How long should it be steep?


What’s the ideal water temperature? Each type of tea has its unique brewing requirements, but many people don’t realize this! Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Below are our guidelines to help you brew the perfect cup of tea every time.



Steeping Instructions:


  • White Tea: Steep for 3–5 minutes at 165–170°F.

  • Japanese Green Tea: Steep for 1–3 minutes at 165–180°F.

  • Other Green Teas: Steep for 3–4 minutes at 175–185°F.

  • Oolong Tea: Steep for 3–5 minutes at 180–190°F.

  • Black Tea: Steep for 3 minutes at 212°F.

  • Pu-Erh Tea: Steep for 3 minutes at 212°F.

  • Rooibos & Herbal Teas: Steep for 5–7 minutes at 212°F.

  • Blooming Tea: Steep for 5 minutes at 175–185°F.

  • Yellow Tea: Steep for 3–4 minutes at 175–185°F.

  • Purple Tea: Steep for 3–4 minutes at 175–185°F.
